Dennis Young Marimba, Percussion

Dennis at Beltane 2000

Dennis Young plays marimba (which is like a wooden xylophone), and other percussion intstruments. While not pagan himself, he is open-minded and enjoys playing the music we perform.

Dennis also likes all types of music, Technology, history, & PBS to name a few. He dislikes Crowds, cigarettes, loud music, and business trips.

Dennis' favorite musicians include Fela Kuti, Peter Gabriel, Papa Wemba, Bill Bruford, Robert Fripp, Can, Gong, Daevid Allen, Peter Hammill, Stravinsky, and John Lennon.

Seeing Buddy Rich in Concert as a kid was his biggest musical influence.

Dennis admires anyone who helps other people in need thru charities, fighting fires, rescue squads, soup kitchens etc...

When asked what do you want total strangers to know about you, Dennis replied "I have been involved with music since the age of 10 and believe thru my musicial experiences in various stages of life that music can take on uplifting and spritual qualities with with the right mix of rhythms and sounds either alone or with a group. Also, I believe that playing music in front of an audience is a privilege that should never be taken for granted."
