Suns and Moons

Projects for the Wheel of the Year

Presented here is an expanding section about Sabbats and Esbats: What they mean, when they occur, and what you and your child can do together to make them special for your family.

Each Sabbat, I hope to have something new for you to look at.

This issue, you can see my first attempt at actually writing for children, in Moon Phases. I attempt to explain, in scientific terms, why the moon changes shape. I firmly believe that knowing the actual physics of things does not dispell their inherent magic. Here are some quotes that I like regarding things technological:

A sufficiently advanced civillization is indistinguishable from magic. -- Arthur C. Clarke
"I'm a great fan of science" - Slartibartfast, in Douglas Adams' Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy
