Everyone thinks of "spoken" languages, but another option could be sign language. I've been teaching my daughter a few American Sign Language signs since before she could talk, and there are many books and DVD's on the subject. We like SigningTime, which is shown on PBS around here. My brother is seeing a girl who is deaf, and he finds that he has picked up quite a few signs just from being in the room while my daughter has watched the videos! _________________ May the most that you wish for,

that's a great idea! I'm splitting your post into a new topic, because it deserves to be seen.

My daughter loves "talking with hands"! The signs are relatively easy to pick up - at least, the ones for children. |
