Wendy Sheridan Lead Vocals, Keyboards, Lyrics
Wendy Sheridan (known on the internet as Voxwoman) has had music in her blood since early childhood. "I was drawing notes on paper before I could write," she recalls.
Her earliest training was on the piano. In school, she played cello, where she developed her love for classical music. But her favorites in those days were Deep Purple, King Crimson, Yes and ELP.
Once in college, Wendy gained an appreciation for jazz, folk, and Celtic styles. During this time, she started her lifelong interest in Middle Eastern Dance, where she learned the intricacies of polyrhythmic drumming. Dancing led her to the SCA, where she was introduced to the Pagan path. This appealed to Wendy immediately, because she realized (as do so many others) that she was already a Wiccan, and had been since childhood. She just didn't know there was a name for it.
After several years in Sonic Veil, an original hard rock band, Wendy spent some time doing the cover circuit in New Jersey and New York, where she played with many musicians and learned many "life lessons".
With the birth of her daughter, music took a back seat for several years, as she immersed herself in motherhood and explored her pagan spirituality.
"I never stopped writing, but I did stop playing out and working with others in a band situation."
But the muse would not leave her alone, and Wendy eventually decided to combine her love of music and her love of the Goddess, and share her gift with the rest of the world. Music for the Goddess is the result.
Wendy's other interests include computers, the internet (where she maintains Mamawitch's Pagan Parenting Page), and Science Fiction (in print and visual, also conventions and fandom)
